ABOUT THE JOB

At Thales, we don’t just imagine the future; we build it. If you’re a recent graduate with a technical Master’s degree, passionate about engineering, and eager to lead, our Tech & Management Traineeship is your launchpad.

 

Our fourth generation of Thales trainees will start in October 2025! And you could be one of them.  


As a Thales trainee you will be trained for a steep learning curve, to advance your career within Thales quickly. We will provide you with the tools to grow into an internal position with impact. Not just during one assignment, mind you, since you will work on three interdisciplinary assignments within approximately 1,5 year. And when you're done? You'll land a challenging job within the engineering department of Thales!

Are you....

  • a young and ambitious talent with 0-3 years work experience? 
  • in possession of a Master’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, etc.). 
  • passionate about technology and innovation, but also ambitious to lead people and projects?
  • proactive, resilient, curious, and comfortable operating in dynamic, complex environments?
  • fluent in English (written and spoken)?
  • flexible to work mainly based in Hengelo but from other locations within the EU as well?
  • a national of one of the countries eligible for screening? *


* In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in The Netherlands and employment and/or education history. This vacancy requires a security clearance which can require further evidence to be provided. PROGRAM

The assignments

In just 20 months, you’ll jump into three exciting assignments across different parts of Thales Netherlands — it’s fast, it’s challenging, and it’s the ultimate growth sprint. Your journey will start at our headquarters in Hengelo and may continue across various sites — possibly even abroad, depending on project availability and business needs. 


You’ll work on real-world projects in fields like starting within the Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) department, and moving through other departments such as industry or business operations. You'll gain critical technical knowledge while developing your leadership and management capabilities. It’s a unique opportunity to get to know Thales inside and out before launching your career in an engineering role that fits you best. 

Meanwhile, you’ll follow a personal development program led by Ormit Talent, designed to grow your leadership skills, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management abilities.
